Quests dominate the progression of the game and guide players on what to research, build, upgrade, explore and battle over the ages. Two or more questlines are active at any given time revolving around improvements to the Capital City, progress on the Campaign battles (PvE) and later for development of Allied Culture cities. Aside from Research, all questlines for a given time period must be completed in order to progress to the next one.
